Glossary of Terms.
Cryptography: Mathematics and computer science discipline regarding information security, encryption and authentication in particular. In applications and network security, it is a tool for access control, information confidentiality and integrity through a process of converting information into an intelligible form, with the exception of holders of a cryptographic key. The use of cryptography protects information between the encryption process and the decryption process (the inverse of encryption) in relation to unauthorized disclosure.
Cookies: Small text files, which store user preferences when using certain websites and / or applications on the internet, enhancing your browsing experience and making it faster.
Geolocation: It means the positioning that defines the location of an object in a given coordinate system through an organized set of hardware and software plus geographic data, which are designed to capture, store, manipulate and analyze all possible information in a geographically referenced way, with the clear mission of solving management and planning problems.
PA-DSS: International Security Standard for established payment applications to assist software vendors with secure and best practices in application development to ensure information security.
Firewall: A device that aims to apply a security barrier to a certain point in the network helping to block access to malicious content, but without preventing the data that needs to be transmitted to continue flowing.
SSL (Secure Socket Layer): A global standard in security technology that allows client / server applications to exchange information in complete security, protecting the integrity and truthfulness of content that travels on the Internet, being possible by authenticating the parties involved in the exchange of information.
